Hello, I am Nick Frevold. I am running for District 4 with a focus on making streets safer for children and families, make zoning reforms such as legalizing ADUs, and improving transit service in the most densely populated areas of Huntsville.

Bill Kling has done great work as councilman, but after nearly 40 years, it’s time for someone new to take over and improve on the work he has done. District 4 has grown considerably over the past decade, being the most densely populated district in Huntsville. I plan to see growth continue, but with a people first approach.

I see the city growing as a great thing for our future. Our growth will allow our children and future residents to have high paying jobs, affordable housing, and improved lifestyles. But it’s very important that we design our neighborhoods and streets to be both safe and livable. Our streets should be safe enough for even children to walk or bike across with no fear of danger. It’s my priority to ensure that as the city grows, the number of road injuries decreases.

This is why I started Strong Towns Huntsville, a local chapter of Strong Towns, an organization with the goal of creating safer streets and sustainable city growth. After just a few months, we have over 50 members, with more than a dozen people attending each of the monthly meetings. By becoming part of city council, I’ll be able to do more than just advocate for safer streets, I’ll be able to make it my full time job getting these changes implemented.

I know Huntsville has a bright future, and I love this city because of that. Becoming part of the city council, I can ensure that bright future stays on track and becomes reality.
