Kids can’t drive, so why expect them to arrive to school by car?

Students deserve the freedom to walk and bike to school

This was an article I wrote last year on how to make Morris elementary/middle school safer for kids. Schools should be safe for kids to walk and bike to.

Adding multi-use paths, bike lanes, pedestrian tunnels, narrowing lanes, reducing lanes, speed bumps, and stronger speeding enforcement are all ways that are proven to work at making streets safer and al have low costs to implement.

Improvements can be made, but it requires political will to do so. If elected to city council, I’ll ensure these safety improvements are implemented.
